06.03.2022: Romanian colleagues also join the efforts to help Ukrainian displaced persons

Raiffeisen Bank Romania is also doing its best to provide support to their Ukrainian neighbors arriving to Romania.

The Romanian Raiffeisen Bank team has created a special page of support -written in Romanian, English and Ukrainian language – meant to offer information for money management by Ukrainian citizens on the territory of Romania. (https://bank.raiffeisen.ro/ro/informatii-pentru-cetatenii-ucraineni/home.html#Ukrainian)

Also, the local bank has adapted its procedures to enable the Ukrainian refugees to have easy access to their savings and to make safe payments, as well as cost-free essential banking services with cards issued in Ukraine.

Furthermore, they offer all citizens of Ukraine, who are taking refuge in Romania or are in transit through the country, the opportunity to open a current account in RON with a debit card attached, at zero cost and issued instantly.

The help does not stop here, as they made it possible for their Raiffeisen Bank clients to donate money to an emergency fund coordinated via their partner, the NGO United Way, directly via the Raiffeisen Smart Mobile application.

The aid is further brought to life by offering a support package of cca.. 300k EUR to help Raiffeisen Bank Ukraine employees. The fund will be used for basic services, food and temporary accommodation, assistance for those who want to transit Romania, long-term accommodation where needed, as well as prepaid calling cards, telephones, free medical services and any other necessary assistance.

At the same time, 25 volunteers from Raiffeisen Bank Romania are now in 10 border crossing points where they offer help. Until today, they have offered emergency assistance to 25 colleagues from Ukraine and their families, providing transport, food, medicines and accommodation.
